Why did the advertised route creation fail in my VPN gateway?

You tried to create an advertised route in your VPN gateway, and it didn't work.

A VPC can have at most 15 advertised routes by default. If the number of advertised routes is already at 15, the VPN gateway fails while creating an advertised route.

You can resolve the failure with the following steps.

1. Decrease the advertised routes number in your VPC.

   • Switch Advertise to to Off in the routing table
   • In the Accepts routes from option of the routing table, switch VPN server to Off
   • Aggregate the subnets in the VPC

2. Open an IBM support case to increase the quota {: external}.

3. Continue to use a VPC address prefix.
